Pushing past the sinews, there is nothing there.
No prayers clogging the arteries, stopping the rush
Of blood, a blackened jet.

The syllables choke.

There is no use lying to a child who when asking
For God, finds only silence.

He is not interested in them. The purity sickens.
There's a boredom in innocence that causes him
To turn away. His eyes are better fixed on those
Who can praise him. The shallow whore who never
Thought her life would take thi
A Legacy of WisdomYou have scribed your words,

Perspectives of a Hallucino...Comfort. The softness of the basement couch. Misery loves company.
Trickling through my fingers. Whispering across my face, her disappearing
lips trace across my cheeks. The smell is sweet, but she is rough against
my throat. Her smell isn't so much intoxicating as it is suffocating, yet
the smoke paralyses my senses and touches my soul. Her street name is
undeserving of her effect on me. Forever, she shall be known to me as

Why I'm Not Religious

Wars are waged and people die
All in the name of the blue skies
When all are weeping as the battle ends
We find that we’re back where we began

Out of pride for God we create regrets
Our hate is all that hate begets
What’s so good about being the same?
Or worshipping something that causes pain?

There is not enough religion for tolerance
But enough for hurt and for lives to be spent?
Even in kids when their parents do tell
That their neighbors are gay and are headed for Hell

Diversity’s supposed to be a virtue
But other religions have caused war, too
Dictatorship-like priests and a book that lies
All under their merciful, good God’s eyes

I’ll never bow down and lose myself
Or donate to someone who doesn’t need wealth
I won’t peruse a text that’s making so many blind
Or my soul to deception will I ever bind

When great thinkers are shunned by the sheep
Because they have knowledge that the church won’t keep
They’re left, instead, to be viewed as snakes
Not revered for relieving hunger no one wants slaked

I think it’s better to just live and let lie
The best that you can with no worry of the skies
If you don’t feel that you can give
Your life to yourself it’s not yours to live…
